Autumn 1: Belonging

This term our theme is called Belonging. As children settle into their new class and school, they learn what it is to belong to Fairway School and its Nursery. Starting from the simplest understanding, the term that some toys belong to nursery/home, inside/outside, all the way through to an object belonging to an area or specific basket for tidy up time. In getting to know each other and in building relationships, children also explore what it means to be ’me’, our likes and dislikes, our emotions and, of course, that we belong to a family and friendship groups.

Autumn 2: Search for a Hero

During this term, children learn about what characteristics makes a superhero and then discover that those attributes can be seen in people we know in our school, our community and even within themselves! We learn the importance of showing thanks and also enjoy learning about the special cultural celebrations that happen in this term of festivities!
